Golden milk is all the rage right now. Build immunity! Improve sleep! Fight inflammation! Heal a cold! You’ve probably heard many compelling reasons to give this healing super drink a try. This simple recipe makes it easy for you to create a version that leverages all these benefits.

The key ingredient used in golden milk is turmeric, a rhizome (often referred to as a root) that is related to ginger. Turmeric is well known to be a potent anti-inflammatory and immune booster. What is less known is that it needs to be combined with pepper and fat to maximize absorption of the healing compound in turmeric, curcumin.

This recipe includes white pepper, the king of spices, which is also anti-inflammatory. Ginger is included to improve digestion. Collagen is soothing to the gut, and combined with honey gives a nice froth factor to this latte-like drink. The fats in coconut milk and ghee complete the curcumin bio-availability boost, making this version of golden milk an all-natural, warm & cozy, delicious medicinal tonic.

1 cup hot water
¼ cup full fat coconut milk
1 tsp raw, local honey
1 tsp collagen powder
½ tsp ghee
½ tsp turmeric
¼ tsp ginger
¼ tsp white pepper
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp cardamom

Add all ingredients to your high speed blender and mix on high for 1 minute until frothy. Drink immediately.
